Khatete, Ibrahim; Riechi, Andrew; Sambo, Azi A
The purpose of this study was to assess the adequacy of federal government’s budgetary allocations on the provision of lecture halls for undergraduate students in federal universities in North-Central Zone of Nigeria. Apart from extracting relevant Documents relating to budgetary allocations from the sampled universities, a descriptive research design was employed and data was collected from university Vice-Chancellors, bursary staff, lecturers and students from the five sampled federal universities. While all the 5 Vice-Chancellors were considered, a sample of 101 out of 254 bursary staff was sampled. In addition, 437 lecturers out of 2,912 were also sampled, 50 students were purposively sampled. The research instruments employed for data collection were questionnaires for bursary staff and lecturers, interview guide for university Vice-Chancellors, and Focus Group Discussion Guide for university students. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were employed to analyze the data. The findings from the field and documents showed that universities budgetary allocations for the provision of lecture halls were only 25 percent of their capital allocation in 2014. In addition, a simple regression model showed that budgetary allocations to universities influence the provisions of lecture halls. Furthermore, findings from the study also showed that even with inadequate lecture halls, the number of applicants and students’ enrolment was on the increase thereby putting more pressure on existing lecture halls. The study recommended among others that government should facilitate policies that will develop universities infrastructure so that adequate lecture halls can be constructed, and Vice-Chancellors should apart from investing in profitable ventures, mobilize Alumni and other stakeholders to be involved in the development of universities through the construction of lecture halls.

The advances in technology world over are taking place at a very alarming rate. All sectors of production are impressing technology in their service delivery and since education plays a major role in all aspects of development, it cannot be left behind. In many cases education is given in schools whether formally or informally therefore they should be prepared for this challenge. The study therefore aimed at examining the preparedness of secondary schools in the integration of information communication and technology (ict) to enhance teaching-learning process. Three objectives guided the study; to examine the secondary schools' ability in the integration of ict in teaching and learning process, determine the level of teachers' and students' expertise in integration of ict in teaching and learning process and the extent to which ict is being integrated in teaching and learning process by teachers and students in nyeri south district kenya. A survey study was done in all the 34 schools in the district. It was found that schools have the capacity to initiate the integration of ict in the teaching-learning process the challenge however is on the capacity of the teachers and principals. It is recommended that schools should be active in capacity building to equip the teachers with the necessary skills and knowledge on how to impress ict in the teaching-learning process to move away from the traditional modes of delivery that seem out of times with the learners.

Infrastructure developments in schools are a major factor towards realization of the Kenya’s vision 2030.
Different stakeholders sponsor various school constructions; building of class rooms, school halls, laboratories,
libraries, dormitories and so on. This research sought to establish the factors influencing the implementation of
construction projects in public secondary schools in Gucha South District, Kisii County. The study was guided
by the following objectives: to establish the extent to which competency of principals in project management
influence implementation of construction projects in public secondary schools in Gucha South District; to assess
the extent to which stakeholders’ involvement influence the implementation of construction projects in public
secondary schools in Gucha South District, to explore the extent to which availability of skilled labour influence
the implementation of construction projects in public secondary schools in Gucha South District, Kisii County.
Descriptive survey design was used in carrying out the study. All the forty two schools were used in the study.
The respondents were 42 principals and 42 P.T.A chair persons representing the schools. The findings of the
study showed that school principals lacked competency in planning, supervising and monitoring of school
construction projects. The school chair persons similarly lacked the capacity to assist principals in project
implementation. In conclusion school principals as managers of school constructions be trained and capacity
build on project development, planning, management and supervision.

Provision of education is a major component in the realization of the Kenya's vision 2030. There are however challenges of equity for every citizen to participate towards the envisaged developments as a result of poverty of the households. This challenge may deny many children an opportunity to attend school and hence acquire necessary knowledge and skills. This study therefore examined the influence of School Feeding Program on the pupils' participation in primary schools in Kenya by looking at Taita Taveta and Nairobi Districts. Five objectives guided the study; to examine the extent to which the school feeding program has influenced pupils' school attendance in public primary schools in Taita-Taveta and Nairobi west district, to determine the influence of the school feeding program on learners' academic achievement in Taita-Taveta and Nairobi west district primary schools, to establish the extent to which the school feeding program influences the levels of learners' involvement in co-curricular activities in primary schools, to determine the level of establishment of school based projects aimed at sustaining school feeding programs in Taita-Taveta and Nairobi west districts and to establish how adequacy of food provided to pupils under school feeding program influenced class attendance in public primary schools in Nairobi west district. A total of 37 schools were sampled in both districts. A descriptive survey design was used during the study. From the study findings it was established that; School feeding program has had a number of influences in the implementation of various school programs notably; curriculum implementation process as can be illustrated in pupils' school attendance, in pupils' academic achievement and participation in co-curricular activities and school administration process. The statistics collected from the study indicate that the program in both districts had not succeeded in increasing enrolment neither had it resulted to an improvement in KCPE performance in public primary schools. Findings also indicate that the program plays a major role in enhancing pupils' participation in co-curricular activities. The program therefore needs to be strengthened in order to ensure the benefits accrued from it are not lost especially the anticipated increase in academic performance. In conclusion the school feeding program has played a big role in the curriculum implementation and participation of pupils in primary education in the two districts. The findings may therefore be used by policy makers and administrators to improve on pupils' participation in primary school education.
