This study is about assessing the diplomatic relation between the US and the Muslim World, with the main objective is to establish the causes for poor relations. The study will also investigate the levels of relationship between the United States and the Muslim world and suggest mechanism of improving relations between the two. The conceptual analysis examined in this study includes realism and Idealism theory that looks at the power politics of states in international relations and the role of both state and non state actors in building diplomatic relations. The research focuses on variables like global war on terrorism, and the Middle East conflict as contributing factors to the problem of lack of participation and communication between the two actors. The research methods used here is library-oriented study which mainly involves critical examination of secondary sources. These include but not limited to books, international relations journals, news, articles, the internet, dissertations and relevant studies on the subject matter. The key findings of the study are that there is need for the US to strengthen her foreign relations with the Muslim world through genuine dialogue and understanding of issues of concern between the two actors. Finally, future studies are needed to help understand the Muslim world in terms of needs, their culture, and the people. How can the US use track two diplomacy effectively to build mutual respect and understanding between the two actors.
