The Primary objective of this study is to investigate the extent of outsourcing of Human Resource
Services in the manufacturing sector for firms based in Nairobi.
Outsourcing here has been studied as a technique whose main objective is to let management
concentrate on a firms core business.
To facilitate this study, the population of manufacturing industries in Nairobi was studied.
Respondents giving information on benefits, risks, reasons for or for not outsourcing the selected
Human Resource Services through a questionnaire.
The results indicate that 42.2% of manufacturing firms of all sizes. Outsource Human Resource
Services.
The main reason for outsourcing being to focus on more strategic initiatives. And that for not
outsourcing being that all Human Resource Services are considered strategic.
These results should be interpreted considering that firms of all sizes were sampled but the highest
positive responses came from mainly from large companies
