Oriented specimens of very young lavas have been collected from 3 volcanic sites in Kenya in order to determine the declination and inclination angles at the times the lavas cooled. TheseD andI values have been tentatively fitted to a time scale extending over the past 1000 years based on historical, geological and vegetational evidence. A plot of declination against inclination for this period takes the form of a partial loop, somewhat similar to those obtained at other places.
