In order to obtain the reactions of returnees to their educational experiences abroad, not only in the United States but in other countries as well, two months were spent in' Nairobi, Kenya. One hundred personal interviews were conducted, and twenty-five individuals returned questionnaires by mail. Seventy-four students included in the study were returnees from the United States; twenty were from the United Kingdom, sixteen from India and Pakistan, and five each from the Soviet Union, Ireland, and Canada. The questionnaire used was developed before leaving the United States and was adjusted after use in the field. It is included in the Appendix of the dissertation, as is the coding of the questionnaire for data cards.
