dc.description.abstractThis research was aimed analyzing the role of media in maintaining peace and security in Africa, a case study of Kenya 2007-2017. The main tasks were investigating the extent to which the media has been able to maintain peace and security in Kenya since 2007-2017, to establish accessibility level of media and the several forms of media coverage used in maintaining peace and security in Kenya since 2007-2017 and to determine how media could have influenced selected human factors towards keeping Kenya secure and peaceful between 2007 and 2017. Both the libertarian and social responsibility theories of media reporting were analyzed to explain media roles and to develop the conceptual framework. A secondary research design was be used. Secondary data was obtained through the review of studies, online journals and books and analyzed using content analysis. The information has been presented in tables, charts and graphs with a brief description thereafter.en_US
