Summarizes the results of records management surveys and discusses problems of: records creation, including poor mail management, file classification, indexing systems, layout and work flow, and misfiling; problems with current records, including loss of files, poor file tracking and ineffective re-submit system; problems with non-current records; problems of records disposition; and staffing of registries.
