dc.description.abstract | Every educational organization is governed by rules and regulations, which students and other
members of the school must adhere to. These rules and regulations are intended to create
harmony in the operations of the school as all members of the school direct their efforts towards
attainment of the school goals.
However, some students are at pains to follow these rules and regulations. The breaking of these
rules and regulations constitute indiscipline in schools. Discipline is the management to enforce
organizational standards. The purpose of this study was to examine or identity some of the key
factors that cause indiscipline in public secondary schools in Kibwezi Division.
The total student population and their teachers in Kibwezi Division Public secondary school
comprised the population of study. The sample comprised of sixty students and eight teachers.
The researcher used a survey design. The sampling technique used was stratified design. The
sampling technique used was stratified sampling method for the teachers and random sampling
for the students. The instruments of data collection were the closed ended questionnaires.
Results indicated that indiscipline case in public secondary schools in Kibwezi Division is
caused by poor diets to the students, lack of guidance and counseling, peer pressure, lack of
proper systems to enforce school rules and regulations, failure to involve students opinion in
school management and notinvolving teachers in designing government policies concerning
