dc.description.abstract | The study was about the use of assessment centers by multinational auditing firms in Nairobi.
The research was undertaken with two main objectives. One of the objectives was to determine
the extent of usage of assessment centers by multinational auditing firms in Nairobi. The second
objective was to find out the weighting of the assessment center selection method given other
selection methods.
The study utilized data collected from 52 respondents selected using the purposive sampling
method from employees of the four auditing firms based in Nairobi.
The data was analyzed mainly using frequencies, percentages and cross tabulations. The findings
revealed that assessment center usage among the auditing firms is low. However, the most
commonly used method is the interview.
It is therefore recommended that, in spite of the high cost and time consumption of assessment
centers, the auditing firms should still adopt them. Other researchers may also investigate the
usage of assessment center process in other firms. | en |
