dc.description.abstract | The System wide Information Network Resources (SINGER) Toolkit is a
tool that enables publishing data on the web in furtherance for
information dissemination and sharing without recourse to sophisticated
knowledge of web publishing.
This project is meant to integrate graphs and statistical data analysis
techniques on to the abstraction layer of the System Wide Information
Network for Genetic Resources (SINGER) Toolkit.
The objective was to transform data into meaningful computer generated
images, pictures and animations, because human beings are inherently
far better at understanding information in these forms.
JPGRAPH-1ibrary of PHP classes, which is a set of graphing classes,
has been used to construct professional looking graphs without having
to delve into the GO library (Graphics library) calls and their PHP
wrapper functions.
R is also used for statistical analysis but in the mean time this is suited
for people with knowledge in R programming.
Several charts and graphs are used to analyze data tentatively from
MySQL database.
An interface for accessing R functions from PHP is a later development
as most of the Rweb components to enable this are still under study for
a windows platform. | en |
