dc.description.abstract | Nairobi city council is a local government authority, which is in charge of managing
the city of Nairobi. Among management tasks undertaken by the city council is the one
of control of developments whose aim is to ensure that buildings put up in the city
conforms to the standards stipulated in both the city by-laws and in the local
government act cap 265 of the laws of Kenya.
The development control section in the department of city planning and architecture is
the one in charge of control of developments. The objective of this project is to develop
an information system for the section which aims to improve the efficiency and
reliability of the development control data and information storage and it's subsequent
retrieval which lacks with the manual system currently in use. The project covers
analysis of the current system and the subsequent design and implementation of the
prototype.
The software used for the system development is Microsoft access for the
development of the database, visual basic version 6 for the development of the system
user interface and Ms-word for the system documentation. | en |
