dc.description.abstractThis is a prospective study of 45 cases of acute gastro-duodenal perforation presented at Kenyatta National Hospital between January 1979 and November 1980. This study analyses the clinical presentation, clinical findings and management of these patients. The mean age was 31 years with a range of 17 years to 58 years. Graham closure were the mode of surgical management in 43 (95.5%) of the cases. 40.50% of the patients had recurrence of symptoms of peptic ulcers within one year of operation. One patient developed pyloric stenosis and one had a re-perforation.The mortality rate was 11.1%en
