Much confusion exists on the subject of Quartan Malaria and the Nephrotic Syndrom at the present time. Although many people have studied this subject in the past, a unanimous opinion is lacking on even whether the relationship between the two exists at all. The present study was undertaken in order to remedy this situation. The aim has been to present a comprehensive account of the clinical, biochemical and pathological features of this syndrome. An attempt has also been made to assess the effect of steroid therapy and the association between Quartan Malaria and the Nephrotic Syndrome. The study was conducted in the wards of the Department of Medicine between June 1961 and June 1965.en
