dc.description.abstract | The study was set to investigate management attitude effect on the integration of ICTs in
classroom environment, identify opportunities available and challenges which will lead to
offering solutions to them.
Three objectives of study were formulated for the purpose of investigating attitude effect.
Objectives to bring out the comparison between Makerere University and Kyambogo
University were also clearly defined. For better focus specific questions were also raised
on the different aspects of attitude.
The subjects of study were drawn from Top Management, Lecturers, and Heads of
Departments/Faculties/Schools.
The method of investigation used was a cross-sectional survey design. Data was collected
by means of questionnaires for Lectures and for deans of faculties, directors of
institutes/schools, .heads of schools Idepartments/ sections and interviews for Top
Management. Intensive library reading, on spot interviews and on the ground
observations were done to gather more information.
Data analysis was carried out by the use of the chi-square statistic, Spearman Correlation
and Multiple Regression from an SPSS computer package.
A number of findings were revealed most of which point to the fact that there was
positive association between management attitude and the integration of ICTs in the
teaching and learning process.
Results also indicated that their were significant differences in the perceptions of the staff
of both institutions in regard to management attitude towards the integration of K'Ts in
the teaching and learning process.
From the findings conclusions were drawn one of the major ones being a confirmation
that management attitude has impact on the integration of K'Ts in the teaching and
learning process.
Finally, several recommendations were made aimed at strengthening the relationship
between management attitude and the integration of K'Ts in the teaching and learning
