The first section of this thesis examines previous
water studies in Kenya and other parts of the world. It
also reviews relevant literature and attempts to interpret
available water data. Methods adopted in the entire study
are also outlined in this section.
The major physical controls of groundwater chemistry
in Kenya are dealt with in the second section of this
study. This does not, however, mean that these are the
only factors that control the groundwater chemistry in
Kenya.
Section three which is perhaps the most important
part in the thesis is devoted to the examination of the
relationship between groundwater chemistry and themajor
physical controls. It also analyzes problems of water
quality necessary for water resource planning and development
in Kenya.
