dc.description.abstractAn account of laboratory and field experiments carried out at the Coffee Research Station, Ruiru, Kenya to study the biology of the scale insect, Icerya pattersoni (Newst) (Hemiptera: Margarodidae) on coffee varieties is given. The insect has recently assumed a pest status in Kiambu District in Central Province, Kenya. Prior to 1980 it was not reported as a pest.en
