dc.description.abstract | The research exercise was carried out with a view of investigating in to the causes or poor
maintenance of govern men t owned vehicles in Nyando district.
The population consisted of four (4) departments namely Works, Education, Agriculture and
Provincial Administration. The researcher used purpose sampling in which he decided to
consider the four departments mentioned above, which proved economical ill terms of money
and time spent.
The study covered all models or vehicles owned by each department that was visited which
were in good condition and the ones that required repair and service. The study was
conducted through survey design.
References to the literature review one contained in the bibliography while questionnaires and
interview schedules were used to collect data.
At the methodology level, the researcher collected data and analysed them. The aim here is to
investigate in all objective manner and gather necessary data using various data col lection
techniques to arrive at a useful conclusion.
In the presentation and interpretation of significant facts ~n the tables, the researcher deduced
that there was relationship between percentage change in price over initial and the percentage
number of cases of vehicles requiring repair and service. The higher the percentage change in
price, the lower the percentage number and service.
The literature review reveals that there was no relationship between percentage shortfall of
funds and percentage number of cases of vehicles requiring repair and service.
There was a positive response by contractors towards repair and service of' vehicles . | en |
