dc.description.abstractTrade Unions play an important role in the lives of workers by improving relations between employers and employees. This research paper looks into bank workers union in Kenya BIFU; focusing on perceptions held about the union and participation of its members. The objective of the study is to to find out perceptions held by bank workers on trade union activities, to find out the diverse activities in which union members participate in, to find out barriers to full participation in the Union activities, and to find out the level and nature of women participation in the Union's leadership. In the methodology applied for research, the unit of analysis is BIFU while the unit of observation is KCB. Quantitative data is collected form members while key informants will provide qualitative data. The study aims at closing the knowledge gap of understanding unions in terms of their development and challenges. Recommendations made will aid key players in the labour industry support trade unions and ensure industrial peace is maintained.en_US
