dc.description.abstract | In factorial experiments combination of levels of two or more levels of more than one factor form the treatments. In this study, a method of constructing almost orthogonal single replicate factorial designs
in blocks is given.
Chapter I gives an introduction to the present study. Section 1.1 gives some Dreliminary concepts, the deletion technique and describes the method used to construct the preliminary designs as well as an example. In section 1.2 some examples on the construction of orthogonal single replicate factorial designs in blocks is given. Section 1.3 states
the problem to be solved in this study and in section 1.4 the signiflcance of the present study is outlined.
Chapter II discusses the construction of some deletion designs. In section 2.1, the construction of first-order deletion designs and some of their
properties are verified using a lemma by Voss (1986). Section 2.2 outlines the construction of second-order deletion designs. Some properties of these designs
are also verified using a lemma by Voss (1986).
Finally Chapter III discusses the properties of deletion designs. In section 3.1 a relationship
for the estimability of treatment contrasts between
the preliminary designs and the corresponding
deletion designs is given. Section 3.2 deals with the orthogonality of the deletion designs. | en |
