| dc.description.abstract | The objective of this documentation is to define and
record in detail all aspects and handicaps therein of
the existing semi-computerized AMREF Grant and Project
Management Information System (AHREF-GPMIS) and to
formalizemy impression of the system.

The analysis phase had as its ~ltimate objective, the
determination of the following:a)
the goals and objectives of the system
b) how well the existing system meets these goals and
objectives
c) what aspects of the existing system hamper the
fulfillment of these goals and objectives
Asa first step in the analysis, facts were collected
during July -August 1986 by analyzing procedures,
report forms and existing file structures. Interviews
were also conducted with the people who work with the
system. Second was the tracing back of system output
reports to the processing by means of systems
flowcharts and narration; This enabled the entire
system to be viewed in a better perspective.
Lastly, resources and constraints were isolated before
a problem definition was evolved from the foregoing. | en |
