System Analysis Of Academic Activities Of The University Of Nairobi
Abstract
The education system is concerned with the inculcating
of norms and values of the society to the young generation.
University education sub-system, therefore forms an integral
part of the otherwise gigantic education system. Systems or
sub-systems have laid down procedures, laws and regulations one
has to follow before and after becoming a member to it, failure
of which results in non-fulfilment of requirements hence rejected.
University of Nairobi (UON) being one of the highest
institutions of learning in the Republic of Kenya has to
accomplish the aforementioned, that is to say, using laid
down procedures, laws and regulations selects entrants to
different fields of study, runs the programs and tests
individuals.
These all big tasks are done or/and co-ordinated by the
Academic Registrar's Office (ARO) in collaboration with
Departments, Institutes, School , Faculties, Colleges and the rest of the established instruments of the University.
This project will review the academic activities in-depth,
look at the present problem areas. The analysis will follow
thereof and eventually an outline design of a system for improvement.
