Effect of teacher -pupil ratio on academic performance in public primary schools in Kisauni division
Abstract
This project report has five main areas divided into five chapters. Chapter one deals with the background of the study, statement of the problem, its significance to the pupils, teachers and the society. It also covers the study objectives, purpose, demarcations and limitations.
Chapter two deals with review of related literature. This explain the work which had been done by other researchers in areas related to the topic of the study which is teacher-Pupil ratio as it relates to academic performance. This review is divided into Kenyan and International scenes. This is to categorize what had been done in Kenya and other countries in relation to the study topic. The theoretical framework of the study is also included.
Chapter three covers methodology of the study. It explains how the study was carried out. It comprises the scope and design of the study, target population, data collections techniques, administration of research instruments and an introduction on how the data had been analyzed and presented.
Chapter Four deal with the presentation and data analysis. It covers the analysis of pupil population, teacher population and teacher-pupil ratio. The data on these areas have been presented and observations made.
