dc.description.abstractThe University of Nairobi has signed its performance contract for the Financial Year 2013/2014. The ceremony which was presided over by Prof. Jacob Kaimenyi, Cabinet Secretary for Education saw the University commit to meeting targets set for the year 2013/2014 which had been negotiated and vetted at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology on September 9, 2013. The new PC was prepared with input from the Government Vision 2030 Medium Term Plan II, the Sector Performance Standards, the 10th Cycle PC guidelines and the University 2013 – 2018 Strategic Plan, among other documents. In his remarks, Prof. Kaimenyi underscored the need for the various management boards to take full charge of the delivery on the targets set out in various performance contracts, as Kenyans are expectant of good service provision and delivery. The University of Nairobi team was led by the Chairman of Council, Dr. Idle Omar Farah and the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. George Magoha. The signatories on the part of the University were the Chairman of Council and Mr. Joseph Hamisi Tui Denna, an independent member of Council.
