dc.description.abstractMost project managers are expected to complete their projects so that they satisfy the three primary objectives of time, performance and cost. It must be recognized however that a project must satisfy more than two of its stakeholders there will always be people and organizations who while not being the principal stakeholders have an interest in how the outcome of the project might affect them. Staff working on a project have a stake in the outcome because the failure or success of the project has profound implications on their future employment and careers. Mombasa County, a case of Women Fighting against Aids an NGO based in the county. The study adopted a descriptive survey design which was informed by a sample size of 28 respondents drawn from the organization's staff, government officials and donor organizations. Data collection was done through questionnaires and observation.Up to 75% of government officials were in agreement that a cordial relationship between the government and NGOs is very relevant and important, t test results showed that government support does influence on the success of projects.WOFAK staff workers are experienced in project management 75% have up to 5 years working experience in NGOs, 83.3% also believe that. a competent team does influence the success of projects by NGOs.66.7 % of staff at WOFAK identified funding as a major challenge encountered when implementing projects which was conquered by donor organizations that NGOs depend a little too much on donor funding. It can be concluded therefore that a competent project team is paramount to the success of projects implemented by NGOs ,if a project staff are academically qualified and have relevant professional' experience they contribute to the achievement of set project goals. Another significant finding, without government support, NGOs cannot successfully implement projects because both entities have specific appeals to the target audience.en_US
