dc.description.abstractIn this work, we aim to discuss the impact of HIV /AIDS in the family and in matrimonial jurisprudence. Further we aim to discuss the measurej . .iecessary to control transmission of HIV /AIDS and their legal implications. Lastly we hope from the discussion to develop the necessary legal framework for dealing with legal issues raised by the impact of HIV /AIDS in the family institution. To do this we have divided this work in four chapters. In chapter One, HIV /AIDS as a disease is discussed. Further the impact of it in the family institution and attending legal issues are discussed. In chapter two specific issues are analysed. These includes AIDS and Parenting, separation am! divorce and custody of children. Furthes modes of controlling HIV transmission ~fl'emooted and ways of enforcing them. Chapter three, gives the recommendations necessary in search for a legal framework. Chapter four is the concluding chapter analysing the effectiveness of the works in fulfilling the above aims.en_US
