dc.description.abstractThe project title is, the role of small-scale enterprises in alleviating unemployment among the youths. The purpose of this study was to investigate the contributions of small-scale enterprises in creating employment among youths in Kibera slums. Literature review looks at various studies that have been carried out by various scholars on unemployment. It shows the causes and effects of unemployment on people and the society. Two theories were used to explain the problem of unemployment that is classical theory and Keynesian theory. Methods of data collection used were; observation, primary and secondary methods. The sampling method used were; purposive sampling and accidental sampling. The Data was collected using one type of questionnaire that had both close ended and open-ended questions. The study’s main hypotheses were comprised of two assumptions that were formulated to guide the research. Both hypotheses in chapter four were tested find they supported the data collected in the field. The last chapter gives conclusion in form of summary concerning research findings. It also gives recommendations in form of measures that should be taken to minimize the causes and effects of unemployment.en_US
