MetadataShow full item record
This report constitutes a study of maintenance management of industrial real estates in Kenya using British American Tobacco Kenya as a case study. The study covers maintenance management practices and points out some ofthe problems experienced by the local industries in Kenya. Industrialisation by the year 2020 is Kenya's main goal and this can be achieved by investing in new industries, preserving the existing stock hence calling for total commitment at all levels. The former involves the use of large capital outlays and is usually spread over a long period of time. However, on a national scale, the resources needed to put up new buildings are scarce and this means we have to rely more on what already exists. Kenyans are therefore called upon to work within the constraints of what has been accumulated over the years. Proper maintenance of the existing stock of industries is necessary because arguably, it will contribute towards the realisation of Kenya's goal of attaining the status of a newly industrialising country (NIC) by the year 2020 .
