Strategies adopted by Grundfos Kenya Ltd to cope with challenges of internalization
This study was conducted to determine the challenges faced by Grundfos Kenya Ltd in its pursuit to internationalization and also to identify the strategies adopted to cope with the challenges experienced. The researcher was motivated to carry out this research owing to the rise in internationalization by many local firms.The objectives of the study were to determine the challenges faced by Grundfos Kenya Ltd in its internationalization program and to determine the strategies used by Grundfos Kenya Ltd to respond to the challenges of internationalization. To achieve the above objectives, the researcher adopted a case study of Grundfos Kenya Ltd. Data was collected by using interviews conducted by the researcher who used a structured interview guide. The researcher interviewed five top managers in Grundfos Kenya Ltd head office based in Nairobi Kenya. The interview guide had two sections whereby the first question sought to identify the personal attributes of the respondent while the second section sought to identify the challenges followed by the strategies adopted by Grundfos Kenya Ltd to cope with these challenges. The data collected was analyzed using qualitative analysis. The study found out several challenges faced by Grundfos Kenya Ltd and were categorized into three different categories; Economic, Political and Socio-cultural challenges. The study further found out different strategies that were adopted by Grundfos Kenya Ltd to cope with these challenges. The results clearly outline the different strategies adopted by Grundfos Kenya Ltd. The study finally summarizes the findings and concluded the study giving further areas for study and the recommendations made by the researcher.
