Smoking causes more preventable deaths from general and oral health conditions than any other modifiable risk factor. It is important to understand the smokers and their smoking perceptions in order to make informed decisions in their management This descriptive cross sectional study was carried out by the use of aself-administered questionnaire The study was carried out at Latema road and Koinange street smoking zones which are located in the Central Business District in Nairobi. This study is aimed at understanding the smoker better in order to make informed decisions during the management of smokers and may encourage policy makers in the development of appropriate antismoking programmes. The data collected using convenient sampling method; smokers found in the designated smoking zones took part of the study. The data obtained in the study was analysed both manually and by use of a statistical package for social sciences software (SPSS v17) and presented in the form of tables, graphs,
