Abstract

Kenya National Examination Council KNEC ) draws its annual estimates of expenditure Manually. A computerised approach was proposed by Professor R.J.P. Scott, Director of Institute of Computer Science University of Nairobi. Professor Scott was one of the first members of the Examination Council, one of the two representative of the University Senate. The project commenced on July 30th 1984 ending in the month of November the same year, it involves: (i ) Problem problem analysis (ii) Application system Design (iii) Application system Design Development of a Computerised system is on ICL supplied package PROSPER. Profit Simulation, Planning and Evaluation of Risk (PROSPER) is designed to do a general class of financial Jobs, appropriate for processing a volatile system as a budget that may require addition of new items and / or deletion of others at any time. The report starts with a project proposal, analysis of existing system and ends with development of a Computerised system.
