Laying a Basis for Rights: towards a jurisprudence of development.

Abstract

The lecture attempts to paint a plausible picture of the rights-creative process; considers the African experience in rights-creation; and proposes an approach to a jurisprudence of development which views the formation of rights as dynamic and moulded by the fundamental and social conditions at play, and by the operative ethics of national policy choice.
