Influence of the East Africa Community Customs Union on the Performance of Selected Firms in the Edible Oils Industry in Kenya
Abstract
The entry into the protocol on the establishment of the East African Community Customs Union in January 2005 was proof that the East African community was working towards its long-term vision establishing an East African political Federation. The cooperation and unity of East African people has been and is still strategic and important from the national, national and regional continental point of view, leading to the widening and deepening regional integration in East Africa. The coming into force of the EACCU has raised attractiveness and competitiveness' of the East African market and has given operators within the region more confidence in making strategic and competitive decision for the business development of the East African region and in addition to making it more attractive investment location....
