dc.description.abstractThis paper examines Kenya ' s exports to East African countries and neighbouring countries for the period 1969 through 1974. It emphaises the need for Kenya to pursue more vigorously the policy of outward oriented strategy of growth. Importantly , it stresses the need for Kenya to start placing more emphasis towards exporting non-traditional goods to these non- traditional markets given the view that the developed countries look upon them as fast growing markets . Kenya with its relative advantage of proximity, relatively highly developed manufacturing sector,and political stability should start to penetrate into these markets especially for her non traditional exports....en_US
