dc.description.abstractThe concept IoT in Kenya is has rapidly gained momentum in the last three to 5 years. IoT incorporates an interesting twist by using internet to better our lives and create comfort and efficiency in daily routines or other manual tasks. In Kenya organizations have quickly aligned themselves into the digital space where the main focus is a strong online presence efficient delivery of services to customers and optimum operational activities. This study investigated the existing relationship between Internet of Things and operations performance at Kenya Wildlife Service. To realize the objectives of the study, a descriptive survey design was used. The target population included 52 employees at Kenya Wildlife Service HQ and Nairobi National Park. The study made use of primary data, which was obtained using interviews and a semi-structured questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted by use of regression analysis and descriptive statistics. The study established that a statistically significant relationship exists between the use of Internet of Things and operations performance at the organization. However, it was also noted that high cost of device acquisition and implementation of the technology, instability of the network and lack of infrastructure and equipment necessary for implementation hinder the adoption of the technology. The researcher recommended that further studies be done on the topic; focusing on different industries in the economy and explore whether the challenges outlined can be mitigated.en_US
