dc.description.abstractThe objective of the study is to establish the challenges of strategy implementation at CHAK how CHAK can overcome these challenges. The study was guided by interview guide. In the strategy implementation often called the action phase, the firm is required to translate its strategies and policies into actions through the development of specific budgets and procedures. Strategy may fail to achieve the expected results especially where strategy execution is flawed. Failure to execute is a major concern of the executives because it limits organizational growth, adaptability and competitiveness. Case study approach was adopted in the study because it provides an in depth understanding of the case understudy, in this context the study provides an understanding of the challenges of strategy implementation at CHAK and how CHAK overcoming these challenges. Interview guide was used to gather information from the senior and middle level management who were chosen as the respondents to the study, the data was analyzed using content analysis. The research study identified several challenges affecting CHAK in implementation of strategy. Some of these include insufficient funding, Donors are only interested on some areas on the strategic plan which are within their mandate. There is also the challenge of staff motivation and retention where the organization experiences challenges retaining the best and talented employees. Recommendations is that there is need for increased funding since sufficient funds for all areas on the strategic plan is a requisite for successful implementation of the strategic plan and that Human resource department should to develop ways of motivating and maintaining their best and talented employees who can effectively guide the strategy implementation processen
