dc.description.abstract | Strategy refers to the means by which policy is effected. The environment in which
organizations, of which countries are cases in point, operate is constantly changing with different
factors influencing the organizations. Since the turn of the millennium, the general business
environment has become more volatile, unpredictable and very competitive (Pearce and
Robinson, 2005). Countries like Kenya are affected by the environment from the neighboring
countries. Political stability in the countries affects it positively while instability affects it
negatively.
The objective of the study was to investigate and document the strategic responses of Kenya to
increased influx of refugees in Kenya. The specific objectives of the research study was to
investigate the strategic response by Kenyan government to increased influx of refugees, to
investigate the infrastructure laid-down to cater for the increased influx of refugees and to
investigate how Kenyan government reacts to proliferation of arms and clan conflict.
The population of the study consisted of Immigration and registration Officers in the ministry of
Immigration and Home Affairs. The primary data was collected by use of a semi-structured
questionnaire. Secondary data was obtained from literature on government gazettes and policies
concerning refugees. The analysis and interpretation was done with the aid of descriptive
statistics which included frequency distribution tables. | en |
