dc.description.abstractPerformance appraisal is a form of merit rating that is majorly aimed at discriminating between employees in making decisions relating to promotions, wages and titles. For it to work well , all members of the organization should have clear understanding of the process and its objectives of the management to benefit from such exercise, and therefore appraisal tools and techniques should be developed to suit the organization. Virtually, all companies have some form of formal and or informal means of appraising their employees’ performance. The perceived relation between employee performance appraisal systems and job satisfaction among employees of Unilever Tea Kenya is a topic conceived out of the interest of the researcher as an employee. The objective is to determine the perceived relationship between employee performance appraisal systems and job satisfaction among employees of Unilever Kenya. The study of evaluating value of helping the management of the organization to determine the acceptability and effectiveness of the performance appraisal practices. The literature review covers employee appraisal or concept, employee satisfaction and the relationship between the two concepts. Chapter three covers the research design survey and data collected from all employees using questionnaire; the analysis was carried out through descriptive statistics. The analysis, findings and discussions are in chapter five, with recommendations in chapter five. There are appendices before the main body of the project to help users to navigate through the document.en
