dc.description.abstract | Within the Sub-Saharan Africa Transport Policy Program (SSATP), the purpose of the
Urban Transport component is to identify ways to provide affordable and safe mobility
in urban areas, with special regard for the poorest parts of the population. Designed as
a partnership between national and local governments, local communities, the urban
transport industry, research institutions, consultants, and exterior donors, the
component has achieved valuable results in policy reforms, user participation, and
consensus building. It also contributes to World Bank’s operations in countries such as
Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Senegal and Tanzania | en |
