Factors influencing internal organizational communication: the case of Kenya National Library Service
Abstract
This study identified and analysed the factors internal to the organization, which affect the
activity of communication. These factors were identified in order to provide a
comprehensive understanding of organizational communication process. The methodology
used was a case study approach coupled with the grounded theory method of qualitative
analysis.
Consequently, the study established that there were no communication structures to
facilitate effective communication among the KNLS staff This has led to existence of
frustration, stress and suspicions leading to workers loosing faith in management.
The study has recommended various possibilities for diminishing the identified barriers
and its consequences is to establish a communication strategy that takes into account the
essential parameters of by whom, how, when and what information is to be commercial.
Finally the study gives directions for future researchers in areas that could interest them.
