The impact of television evangelism on church growth in Nairobi
Abstract
This study is set out to investigate the impact of Television evangelism on church growth in Nairobi. Specifically, this study attempts to establish whether Christian TV evangelism has any effects on church growth in terms of attendance, Christian values and as to whether TV as a medium of communication is an effective tool of evangelism.
The research methodology applied in this study is the survey method. The
sample population was purposively selected and served with questionnaires. The research would not have been complete without involvement of Key Informant Interviews (KII) who consisted of pastors and TV evangelists. The study was carried out between August 2005 and December 2005.
The findings of this research showed that most respondents were in agreement
that, actually, TV evangelism impa.cts on church growth. But more intriguing findings indicated that TV evangehsm is just a rein forcer of other church
growth dynamics.
