In this paper, teachers' perceptions of quality assurance and standards officers' supervision in public secondary schools of central division, Laikipia District, Kenya have been described. The study wished to answer the following objectives; to determine the perceptions of teachers on the adequacy of the QASO inspection sessions; to determ ine the perceptions of teachers on the preparedness of QASOs in the supervision of secondary school teachers, to find out the relationship which exists between QASOs and teachers' as they interact, to establish teachers' perceptions on the extent to which QASO assessment reports are acted upon by teachers and to determine the perceptions of teachers on whether QASOs' exercise has helped to improve teachers' teaching skills. The research used Ex Post Facto method. The sample for the study was selected using random sampling. 121 teachers were selected from 13 schools. Questionnaires were used to collect data. The data was analysed using descriptive statistics and presented using frequencies, percentages and charts. Content analysis of free response information was used to give substance to statistical findings. To determine the perception of teachers on the adequacy of QASO Inspection Sessions, the researcher found out that supervision took place once or twice for the last two years and the respondents indicated that this was adequate supervision. In determining the perception of teachers on the preparedness of QASOs in the supervision of secondary school teachers, majority of the respondents indicated that there was prepared time frame and well written guidelines for supervision. On finding whether there is a relationship that exists between QASOs and teachers as they interact. Majority of the teachers felt that the QASOs made comments about teachers' systematic manner. On the teachers perception on the extent to which QASO assessment reports are acted upon by teachers, they felt teachers feeling that the comments from the QASO were constructive alia also helped in diagnosing learning problems ot pupils. -1'0 determine the perception of teachers on whether QASOs exercise has helped them to improve their teaching skills. It was found out that the assessment reports from the QASO help them in improving teaching skills in their respective schools. The following recommendation were made that the QASO should be felt by all teachers regardless of their qualification, since they need to be guided on how to help the learners do better in their classes. The inadequacy reported in some areas should be improved on, so that everyone will indicate that they have been supervised adequately by the QASOs. The number of times they conduct impromptu and irregular school visits should be reduced and also QASO supervisors should be well organized when they come for the supervision. Personal interest vested by QASO on some teachers should be reduced so as to create a good atmosphere between themselves and the teachers. QASOs should be innovative in their comments and should offer new instruction that would help the teachers during their teaching sessions. The headteachers and teachers should be encouraged to implement QASO assessment reports in order to help pupils/students from their respective schools. This will help their students to perform better than they are doing. These factors include teaching methods and learning methods that are better than the ones they are currently using.en
