dc.description.abstractA historical account of eventD and people associated "vith the discovery of the life cycle of Fasciola gigantica is given. An account of a survey carried out throughout the 18 districts of Uganda to establish the spread of fascioliasis and what species of !a~ciol~ is responsible for the disease in Uganda, and the findings of this survey is given. Experiments on the field epidemiology of fascioliasis are described, their results discussed ~Dd conclusions drawn in this chapter.
