In the drive towards a truly Paperless Office, a web-enabled database is seen as the most viable solution to the challenges facing the Department ofInformation. The developer therefore analyzed, designed, developed, and implemented a Database - driven web site for text, graphics and photographs. The database and its supporting tools would allow a user, equipped with a standard web browser, to query, view and access selected text based on keywords, searches, etc. The Internet and World Wide Web will enable users to do research as well as the distribution of information through information systems. The Web has become increasingly more complex, linking many databases and allow for the integration of information on a number of different levels by creating dynamic Web pages. The developer developed a server-side database hosted on the web site URL kenyanewsagncy.go.ke. The design is extensibility so that in the future, images and videos of transit/persistent related facilities could be added, integrating the system to a fully functional Multimedia Database Management System (MMDBMS). Web casting can also be added. The major challenge to the database -driven website is the updating of the content to keep the many expected users hooked up to the website as content is king and without juicy content the usefulness of the whole project will be injeopardy.en
