An evaluation of the accuracy of X-ray fluorescence analysis for heavy. elements (Z > 48) using L-series fluorescence X-rays has been performed. A method for fast elemental analysis of a large number of samples by normalising elemental intensities to intensities of the incoherently scattered excitation X-rays has been developed for practical use. The potential usefulness of the XRFA technique has been demonstrated by analysis of uraniferrous soils, fluorspars from Ken~~ and uranium standard reference materials f~om the International Atomic Agency (I.A.E.A.). The Accuracy of Analysis has been estimated to be 6 - 10%.en
