This paper examines the challenges faced by the ministry of Lands in Kenya in the fulfillment of its mandate. The field survey applied in this study is that unless actual decision making is observed, the challenges faced by the ministry will continue to abound. The study is based on a field interview guide that was administered by every province in Kenya. The findings suggested that the ministry faced numerous challenges that require urgent attention such as the need to quickly address the political question affecting land administration in Kenya, the simplification and consolidation of the complex legal codes that govern the administration of lands and also the need to address the administrative deficiencies that impede the proper administration. In addressing these components, there is need for the ministry to urgently develop land policy and institute modem reforms that would spur better management of Land. The findings also suggest that both the Ndungu and Njonjo reports need to be adopted to effectively manage the issue of title deeds and land ownerships. The findings also suggest that external environment such as NGOs and different firms involving in corporate social Responsibility Programmes (CSR) need to be deeply involved in Land management matters. It is concluded that immediate, holistic and systematic approaches to Land Management must be pursued urgently so that better results could be expecteden
