Variability in handaxe form or shapes is widely acknowledged in Early Stone Age literature. The strategy of this study is aimed at achieving an understanding of the shapes, size, and refinement of Acheulian handaxes in Kenya by applying metrical analyses on attributes such as Length, Breadth, Thickness, ~~d other derived indices. The first chapter presents the problem and the hypothesis to be tested. Chapter 2 is a perspective chapter on the Acheuli&~, which is the time period dealt with in this study. Chapter 3 is background information to the sites. Discussion on site location in relation to topography, ecology, geology, and so forth is included here. Chapter 4 discusses the methodology, while Chapters 5 and 6 deal with data analysis and presentation, and conclusion, respectively.en
