dc.description.abstractThis study is about the penetration o Christianity into the Akamba traditional family. It examines the teaching of three church organizations and their approach towards the Akamba traditional beliefs and values Christianity was first brought to Ukambani in 1849by Dr. J. L. Krapf. a Lutheran missionary who was sent out to Africa by the Church Missionary Society. This study then , is to investigate the way in which Christianity was presented to the Akamba people and their reactions to it. It is to be noted that the Akamba people had their own beliefs and values. In order to win the Akamba people to the new religion, the missionaries were to make their way through the Akamba religious beliefs. Tn first formidable problem which faced the missionary Christianity was the Akamba traditional religious beliefs. - The approach of the missionaries towards the Akamba culture and the methods used in preaching - Christianity to the akamba became crucial in its degree of penetrationen
