dc.description.abstractAn institute of Technology, offering teaching, boarding for students and houses for staff form a sort of community it is necessary to establish a functioning order, within this community, which will bring about an integration of 1 iving, learning and social activities. Coast institute of Technology o.n tudor creek near the sea at Mombasa offers beautiful opportunity for a College type of Community, and a cohesive design which balances around a 1 inear pattern is the basic criteria. Spaces are 1 inked by a main concourse and sub-concourse, which is the primary factor of the institute and its growth. A flexible pattern of planning which is responsive to changes in Academic and Social Demands, typical of all colleges, have been attempted. The design of many buildings does, not only permit but also positively encourages growth and change keeping the whole in harmony.en
