In the world economic order, third world countries are always at a disadvantage position being producers of primary goods whose prices are determined by the consumers who are the developed countries. This is usually transmitted down to the farmer in the rural areas. This study aims to look into the relation between cash c incomesversus incomefrom elsewhere as they affect building as a process and as a product in the rural areas, in Kenya and namely Nyeri District. Two typical divisions are chosen as a case study. The first chapter is devoted to broadly introducing the problem(s) which the research has observed or perceived. It deals with introduction-of the prevailing situation, then looks at the specific problem and problem area and then sets out the strategies of tackling the study by outlining the hypothesis, objectives, significance of the study, research methodology and finally, defining terms used in the body of the study that are subject to subjective interpretation. The second chapter is solely devoted to literature review where the researcher tries to relate whatever has been done which is in line with the study. Chapter three deals with data analyses where the raw data is put in some logical order and form. Then the data is synthesized where it is put in a form such that the reader can grasp the impact of the findings with ease. The last chapter (four) deals with what the researcher has inferred from the whole study. Then in the same chapter, the research gives recommendations which he feels can alleviate the current problem if implemented.en
