An investigation into the factors that limit the use of timber as a roof covering material
Abstract
The study tittle, An investigation into the factors that
limit the use of timber as a roof covering material,
investigated the factors behind the low level use of timber
in roof covering. The researcher was interested in knowing
the reasons responsible for limited use of timber
(shingles) in roof covering. This was done with the aim of
establishing whether the intrinsic properties of the timber
limit its,usage in roof covering.
The hypothesis was used as a basis of collecting relevant
data and the consequent discussion of its findings. In all
the hypothesis was disapproved. The study found out that
there are other exogenous factors that mainly limit the use
of timber in roof covering.
The study also found that shingles as a roof covering
material has promising opportunities in which further
studies could be carried on.
